Who does BFSG apply to?
All companies selling goods or services online in Germany: e-commerce, banks, telecom, transport. Exception — micro-enterprises with fewer than 10 employees.
What are the BFSG penalties?
Up to €100,000 per violation. Sales bans on non-compliant products and services are also possible.
Is BITV 2.0 enough for commercial websites?
BITV 2.0 is for government sites. Commercial sites must comply with BFSG, which requires EN 301 549 / WCAG 2.1 AA. InclusiveWeb covers both.
